Revamped Gallery - Recycled Trash Fashion Exhibition, Westend Kaikoura
At Revamped Gallery, Westend, Kaikoura a permanent exhibition featuring garments from past Recycled Trash Fashion Shows is a must visit when staying in Kaikoura.
The garments will amaze you as you view this spectacular collection made from totally recycled materials.
The Gallery and Exhibition is operated seperately from the Seaward Lions of Kaikoura by the Kaikoura Recycled Arts and Crafts Trust.
Revamped was opened in November 2008 after friends Denise Hamilton and Sue Jensen (both show designers) approached the Seaward Lions to display the Recycled Trash Fashion garments after the June 2008 show. With help from Julie Syme and others, over 100 garments were collected from 10 years of shows and arranged amongst recycled backdrops for many others to enjoy. Revamped wecomes visitors daily from all over New Zealand and the World.
The focus for the Gallery is to encourage artists and designers to upcycle old things and make new ones from them. Designer One Off Clothing for adults and children is available along with many other art works that you will love to look at and have at home. Visitors are amazed at what can be produced using recycled materials with a little bit of creativity and time.
